Crazy month!
I will post this as I recall and through my children's posts on Facebook.
I developed pressure at the top of my abdomen. (Tuesday) I took TUMS and got no relief. The pressure turned into severe pain so Dick took me to the ER. The doctor was sure it was my gallbladder. He sent me home with instructions to call the hospital in the morning and get an ultrasound. On my way home from leaving the hospital, the pain got worse. It was horrible! The next morning (Wednesday) before I called them, the radiology department called me and asked me to be there at 9am. Brianna took me, I hadn't had any pain relief. The ultrasound confirmed I had a lot of stones in my gallbladder. They scheduled me to see the surgeon the next day. I got home and the pain was the worst pain I had ever experienced. After so much nausea and spiking a fever, Dick and Anson took me back to the ER. I don't really remember the ER and how I got to the patient room. Dick told me I was in the ER forever because they were so busy. They discovered my white blood count was extremely elevated so they decided to admit me. A while later they started an IV, gave me IV antibiotics, and an IV pain pump with Demerol.
Wow!
Can you say PAIN RELIEF!?!
Aubrey had a Homecoming Queen's Assembly and they were going to have the fathers accompany the queen candidates. Dick didn't want to leave me but I do remember begging him to go be with Aubs. We have left her so much these past 3 1/2 years when we go to the Huntsman. Brianna went with Dad. She promised she'd take pictures and be there for Aubrey like she always is. Anson stayed with me.
The next day I was still feeling pretty sick. I had also developed a pain in my right lower abdomen. I kept telling everyone but no one seemed to be very concerned and kept reassuring me that gallbladder pain radiates almost everywhere. They told me the surgeon wanted to do surgery that evening. I felt at peace after the surgeon visited with me. Before I went to sleep in the surgery room, I told the nurse that my right lower abdomen was hurting. She told me the gallbladder does strange things. When I woke up I found out that I certainly had TONS of stones. My gallbladder wasn't diseased but he still removed it. Before the surgeon finished the procedure, he decided to check my appendix and found out it was ruptured. He said that he heard me when I asked the nurse why my right lower abdomen was hurting so he thought he better take a look.
I don't even want to imagine what would have happened if he wouldn't have made that discovery.
I am so blessed!
During all of this, we found out that Aubrey was voted as one of the top 3 candidates for the BHS Homecoming Queen. Dick wanted Anson to accompany Aubrey at the football game but I did not allow it. Dick and Brianna went to the football game. Brianna again reassured me she'd help Aubrey with her hair and makeup and take lots of pictures. They called me from the game to tell me that Aubrey had been crowned as the 2016/2017 BHS Homecoming Queen! All of the hospital staff was so happy for her!

Happy 7th Birthday Deacon!
I'm feeling extremely grateful and relieved. I have felt the love that my Heavenly Father has for me more than ever these past few weeks. I didn't only have a gallbladder removal surgery, a surgery to get rid of gallstones, or a surgery to remove my appendix. I had all three at the same time. Plus I also had a ruptured appendix which spilled infected contents into my abdominal cavity. The week after my surgery I was able to join my husband for his chemotherapy.
I am feeling wonderful!
I am so blessed.
Before surgery, while they were doing an ultrasound to check my gallbladder, they discovered a mass in my kidney. I followed up with a CT scan to check on that mass after everything calmed down. A little later my sweet doctor messaged me and these were his exact words... "Just got the report and kidneys are normal. I think you prayed it away."
I have been praying. I've been pleading to my Heavenly Father. Especially during the CT scan.
"The tender mercies of the Lord are real and they do not occur randomly or merely by coincidence."
