Having dinner outside on Monday night. (June 16, 2008)
On Sunday, June 15th, 2008 Richie and his little family surprised us. They came to Burley for Father's Day. We had a wonderful visit. Dad did some last minute things in the yard. As soon as his garden saw him, the garden looked happier. He had all the boys help him pull weeds in the garden. He said I had taken good care of the yard while he's been gone. On Monday we had family night and had dinner outside. Dad, Richie and Anson returned to Logan pretty late. Anson, Dick, Richie, Radik (Giselle's boyfriend) and James (my sister's husband) were all playing Risk and we couldn't pull Richie from the game to return to Logan. Chrislynn and the children stayed here. We had another shower for Bree on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we all drove back to Logan and stayed in a hotel. Brianna would be getting married on Friday (June 20, 2008) in the Logan temple.Week before the wedding (Part 3)
Richie would spend most of his days playing in the sand box. He also loves the trampoline. When he first got on the tramp, he wasn't too sure about it, but now he likes it. On Saturday we went to Logan to take Richie III back to his parents and to pick up my sister and her family from the airport. My sister Sandra came for the wedding. We all saw "The Dresser" that night. Giselle and Radik were there too. They flew in on Friday. We all drove back to Burley after the play. We arrived in Burley about at 2:00 am.

The week before Brianna's wedding
We've had a busy past 2 weeks. After Bree's first pantry shower on the 7th of June, Chrislynn left on the 9th and left Richie III here in Burley with us. It was so much fun having him with us. He really was the center of attention at all times. I don't think he ever asked for mom and dad. He felt right at home. We kept him busy. We took him to Storybook park often and McDonalds everyday for lunch. He sure loves chicken nuggets! We had the Primary Olympics and he sure liked that. Even though he was the youngest one, he went with Aunt Aubrey with the CTR 9 and 10 group. He fit right in and got lots of attention. His favorite station was the baking one. The baking station involved oreo cookies. The lady in charge of the baking station gave him a broken oreo and he said, very frustrated..."I don't like broken ones!" So we gave him one that wasn't broken and he broke it in half and ate the center. He is so adorable!

Wonderful weekend!
We had a great weekend. Brianna had her first bridal shower and we had a lot of wonderful ladies here. I think there was over 35 ladies in our front room. It was a pantry shower, so Brianna recieved tons of food and recipes. She also got two beautiful quilts from the Glovers. Worthy and Gail Glover are my daughter in laws parents. They both make the most beautiful quilts in the world. One of them was done and the other one Chrislynn has to take back to her mom so that they can finish it. The picture below is the one they haven't finished. It is so beautiful! Everyone loved it so much. Chrislynn and the two children came for the shower. She left today and left us Richie III. We had such a fun weekend with the little ones. I love my grandchildren so much. I love Chrislynn so much too and I appreciate everything she does. She is a great wife and mother to those children. I wish we were closer to Logan to see her more often this summer. Chrislynn and Sophia left after the children took their afternoon nap. We took Richie III to Storybook Park, then to McDonalds for dinner. (He loves chicken nuggets!) When we came home, he played in the back yard, then we took him upstairs for a tub. After his tub Aubrey read him a story while I put his PJ's on. While I was putting his PJ's on, Anson sat on the rocker in the bedroom and Richie III said, "No, that's grandma's chair!" He knew grandma was going to rock him to sleep next. (Chrislynn left a schedule of his day) While I rocked him to sleep, I sang "Tell me the stories of Jesus" and "Book of Mormon". He said his little prayer, then we tucked him in. I told him what Chrislynn told me to tell him as I was tucking him in. Goodnight, (a kiss) Don't let the bedbugs bite, (a kiss) Don't get out of bed, (a kiss) then I said, "What did I forget to say?" He said, "Don't wake before sun" so I said, "Don't wake up before the sun" (a kiss) Then I said, "Can I add something new?" and he said yes. I said, "Grandma loves you." (a kiss) Aubrey said, "Can I add something too?" and he said yes. She said, "Aubrey loves you." She kissed him too. As we closed the door he looked at us with us with his beautiful blue eyes. After we closed the door, Aubrey's eyes were teary and she asked if we could stay with him til he fell asleep anyway Chrislynn would never know. I explained to her that his parents want him to learn to go to sleep on his own so that if he wakes up at night, he can go back to sleep on his own. Believe me, it was very hard for me not to rock him to sleep. We will have a fun week with him. He is so cute and so full of life. Saturday, we go to Logan to take him back. We will also bring Giselle and her friend and my sister and her family from Texas.
