"I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us-and as our posterity read of our life's experiences, they too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted. What could you do better for your children and your children's children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved? Some of what you write may be humdrum dates and places, but there will also be rich passages that will be quoted by your posterity. We hope you will begin as of this date." ~Spencer W. Kimball

"In family relationships, love is really spelled t-i-m-e." _Dieter F. Uchtdorf

A persons own family is without a doubt, the greatest wealth that we will ever possess. Treasure every moment and take the time to ensure that the story you create is one that you will be proud of and look back on with a huge smile.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RICHIE III

Today was a very special day. Richard Burleigh Call III turned 3 years old. It's really impossible to express how much joy this young spirit has brought into our lives. He is our first grandchild! He is so quick to always try and please. Even at such an early age, you can tell he is going to be such a great brother and a sweet son. Happy Birthday little sweetheart. Thanks for coming into our lives. We can't imagine this world without you. We love you and we miss you. You left a big, empty space in our hearts.

I've Been Tagged!

I was tagged by Carol
I am: Sayda
I think: Richie II will be famous one day. (TV or on the big screen) Just wait and see!
I know: I am truly blessed when I think of my family.
I want: a cure for Type 1 diabetes before Brianna gets more complications from it.
I have: the best family in the world.
I dislike: beets.
I miss: my older children not being home anymore. So, so much that it gives me a sick feeling in the center of my stomach.
I fear: losing a loved one.
I feel: like I've raised good children with a good head on their shoulders.
I hear: Anson and Aubrey talking all the time unless they're at school.
I smell: stinky farts all the time. (Coming from Dad or Anson)
I crave: strawberries and kiwis.
I cry: with sad movies.
I usually: laugh when I think of some things my kids said or did when they were little. (No, you never forget.)
I search: for things I put away. I always forget where I put things.
I wonder: why I'm not a millionare because I would totally share my money with everyone and put my kids through school so that they wouldn't go into debt.
I regret: not spending more time with my mother before she passed away. (I even lived in the same city.)
I love: my husband and kidos.
I care: about how people treat my children and how they treat others.
I always: kiss my kids when they go to bed and when they wake up, before school and after school.
I worry: all the time about someone I care about having a horrible car accident.
I am not: a very good cook.
I remember: when my mom passed away like it was just yesterday even though it was 13 years ago.
I believe: that you can become anything you want to be if you work hard at it.
I dance: only in my mind.
I sing: along with the radio all the time.
I don't always: listen when my loved ones have a problem. I interrupt alot, I think.
I argue: not as much as I used to when I was younger.
I write: everything I have to do on my calendar or I will forget.
I win: at adding, subtracting and multiplication problems when I am getting timed and I play against anyone.
I lose: all the time when I play board games.
I wish: my mom could see my children now and my grandchildren.
I listen: to music all the time in the car. (Really loud)
I don't understand: why some kids are so young and are so rude to their parents, older people, teachers, and other kids. Then, there are those kids that are totally the opposite. I really don't understand that.
I can usually be found: at home or in my little HHR driving around the big city of Burley.
I am scared: to die because I am an older mom now and Anson and Aubrey are still so young. (Even though I know they have older siblings that would take over in a heartbeat.)
I need: my children in my life. (All of them)
I forget: Aubrey and Anson are so young sometimes because they are so much taller and so much more mature than other children their same age.
I am happy: knowing that my childeren get along with eachother, knowing they would do anything for eachother and knowing that they love eachother.

I love babysitting!

Yesterday I had the honor of babysitting for a dear friend. She had to go to a funeral in Utah so she left me her 3 kidos. I only watched Jacee half day because she had to go kindergarten.
Jackson is three.
Pretty, pretty Jacee is (as she would say) five and a half.
Kids playing with Aubrey after school.Maddie found some grapes from the grapevine. They are still pretty sour, but she didn't seem to mind.
She loved pretendig to drive the jeep.
She was chasing her shadow and was playing peek-a-boo with it.
Taking her afternoon nap.
Little Maddie is one.

I had a wonderful day today! They were so good. It helped me so much since I've been missing my grandchildren so much.

Youth Cultural Celebration - Living Water....08/23/08

The youth in our church have been practicing every Wednesday night for this Youth Cultural Celebration. Anson, who is 13 took part in this wonderful event. There was a couple of scenarios
in between the dances that Dick helped with by building some set pieces. He's been working on the set for over a month. About a week ago he gave it the final touches. For one of the cabins he build, he had to go to the country to get the wood. Someone told us that they knocked down an old barn and that he could have the wood. He even stepped on a nail doing this. This past Friday, the day before the event, he put all the set pieces outside his shop at school (in the loading dock). He was planning on having a buddy of his from our ward come right after school with his trailer to help him load the set and make it to the 7:00 pm dress rehersal in Filer, Idaho. The event took place in the Filer fair grounds. Well, he goes outside after school and his set is no where to be found. He thought he was loosing his mind. He finally finds the head custodian and asked him where his set was. Randy, the head custodian told him he called the city to bring a truck to take the set to the dump. Naturally Dick's jaw just drops and he said, "Randy, why did you do that?" Randy told him he thought it was things he didn't need anymore and sent it to the dump. Dick takes off to the dump and finds his set. Alot of the set pieces were broken and had to be rebuilt again. The kid in the dump truck that worked for the city even threw away 4 antigue chairs that were part of the set. Dick called me and told me what was going on. I don't think I've ever heard him so upset. He asked me to call Debra Jones, who was in charge of everything and who had approved of the set after making some small changes. He said "Give her the heads up and tell her the set won't be what she wanted but I'll show up with a bucket of nails and a hammer." It was pretty crazy! During rehersal the largest piece fell over. I'm glad it didn't hurt anyone. It all worked out before the rehersal was over though. Some dear people helped him alot, especialy our bishop who had taken a car full of kids.
On Saturday, the kids rehearsed at noon, and at 3:00 pm. The evening celebration was at 7:00pm. I got to sit in the reserved seats with Travis and Brianna. Since Dick helped out, they gave him 3 tickets for family. Aubrey got to help Dick by being part of the stage crew. She was so amazing! She helped with setting up the props and taking them off the stage for the dances. On his way up the stage, President Monson stood right by her and visited with everyone before he got to the top of the stairs. She said he has a funny personality and was just being fun and cute. She also said that when it was time for him to go sit, he left by marching and singing, "Of we go into the wild blue yonder........" When the stage crew removed the chairs from the stage so that the dancers could perform, she had the special experience of removing President Monson's chair. She was so excited about that. That's all she talked about for two days. The celebration was wonderful. It is so neat that Anson took part in this. Brianna said she wished she would have done it when she was in Mutual. After the welcome, hymn, and invocation, President Monson gave the greeting. He talked to the youth as if he was talking to them individually. He gave them a beautiful blessing. One of the things in that blessing that he repeated over and over is for them to honor their parents. At one piont he said, "Please do it for me." With his sweet, sweet voice. The youth worked so hard for this. There was 3000 young men and young women. The only times that the youth from all the stakes rehearsed together was once on the day before and twice on Saturday. Yet it looked like they had been rehearsing together for at least a month. The dances were amazing and fun! The costumes were amazing! I think that it is great how we have so many leaders in our community that helped with our kids so much! The theme was "Living Water" In John 4:10.....Jesus answered and said unto her, If thuo knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. These are some pictures that I borrowed from my dear friend N. Burgess. Someone told me we weren't suppose to take pictures. Yet everyone had a camera. I wish I would have taken pictures of Anson.

On Sunday, the Twin Falls, Idaho temple was dedicated. Anyone from ages 8 and up could go. We all sat by Travis and Brianna. It was a wonderful weekend. It made my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel grow. I know without a shadow of a doubt that my Heavenly Father lives and that His Son died for me.

ZUCCHINI, ZUCCHINI, ZUCCHINI!!!!!!!!!!

Dick got so busy with other things this past week that he didn't make time to pick zucchini from the garden. Guess what? They got huge!!!! The zucchini was as long as Brianna's thighs. We have tons of cucumbers! As you can see Travis is even using one for a phone. Actually we thought this cucumber was enormous!

Miss you, Richie III

Our blog got bombarded by all these different countries at the same time not to long ago and it worried me a little so I made our blog private. My family has complained once or twice about having to sign in and making it more complicated for them, so I'm public again. If I decide to go private again, just type in your email and you can read our blog. (I saved everyones.) Thanks to all who sent me their email. I love keeping in-touch this way and seeing everyones progress and new additions to their families. I basically asked for friend and family emails who had us on their friend or family links. Hope everyone had a great summer! We sure did! With a wedding and family from Texas, New Jersey, and VA our summer was amazing. Everyone is back in school and my little grandchildren are back in New Jersey for one more school year. I miss everyone so much, but especially Richie III.....my little buddy that calls me GRAMA!

I bought Aubrey some 12 count colored pencils for school. When we got home she brought her 50 count colored pencils from last school year. I asked her if she'd rather have 50 instead of 12 and she said yes. The pencils were in real good condition. Maybe 5 or 6 were a little shorter then the rest. (I guess they must be her favorite colors?) The box was pretty torn up so I patched it up. Made a new lid and made it stronger. Afterwards, I mod podged it. I think it turned out really cute. It kind of reminded me of all the arts and crafts Giselle use to make when she was growing up, especially during her junior high years. Remember the Starburt binders?I didn't cover this part because it shows all the colors included.

A new box of 12 or an old, cute box of 50? I think the old, cute box that mom made!
Aubrey decided to go all lime green for her school supplies. Great choice!

Family Home Evening

We had FHE at Travis and Brianna's house yesterday. They had a wonderful dinner first. Following dinner, Travis gave a wonderful lesson then we had a yummy dessert.

Aubrey's 2nd place cabbage.

We enjoyed Aubrey's cabbage. One forth of the cabbage was bigger than a store bought cabbage. So.....we shared. I think all our neighborhood enjoyed it.

Aubrey's cabbage took 2nd!

Well dad finally helped Aubrey bring the cabbage in before it exploded. I honestly think it would have kept getting bigger and bigger!
We tasted the leaves that were falling off and it tasted so good. Can't wait to taste the rest!
Here is the beautiful cabbage that Aubrey grew.
It recieved the red ribbon which equals to 2nd place.
She was pretty proud of it.
What we don't understand is why this little purple cabbage took 1st. I don't even think it's the same category. (Purple cabbage - green cabbage?)
I also think Aubrey's cabbage is prettier.
I mean....Look The green cabbage to the right took 3rd place. Aubrey's was three times the size. Do I sound like a sore looser or what?
