"I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us-and as our posterity read of our life's experiences, they too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted. What could you do better for your children and your children's children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved? Some of what you write may be humdrum dates and places, but there will also be rich passages that will be quoted by your posterity. We hope you will begin as of this date." ~Spencer W. Kimball

"In family relationships, love is really spelled t-i-m-e." _Dieter F. Uchtdorf

A persons own family is without a doubt, the greatest wealth that we will ever possess. Treasure every moment and take the time to ensure that the story you create is one that you will be proud of and look back on with a huge smile.

Deacon's surgery on 4/16/15

APRIL 16, 2015
THURSDAY

The pictures tell his surgery story.
Deacon had brain surgery for his chiari malformation and they took two of his ribs to fuse part of his cervical spine.

Trying to wake up after surgery.
His face and little eyes were so swollen.

He was actually smiling and giving us a thumb's up!

Grandpa knew just how to help him relax and calm down when his pain would flair up.

He had a leakage of cerebral spinal fluid which was causing major headaches. They had to suture in between sutures so that it would quit coming out. The body finds a way of reabsorbing it.

Grandpa had a way of understanding his pain and quite often taught him how to withstand the pain through some breathing techniques and sound effects.
He kept telling grandpa... "I miss my old head. I miss my old life."

After the Cerebrospinal fluid built up again in his system and bathed his brain, his headaches went away and he continued the road to recovery. Aunt Leanna came to see him. She is always there for us and I love her dearly.

This is an amazing little boy!
He would have been fine the day after surgery, if he wouldn't have had the leak that was causing horrible headaches.

Aunt Aubrey and Aunt Giselle never left his side. They were there for their sister and their nephew.

He had a special visit from Uncle Richie and Aunt Chrislynn and his cousins whom he loves so so much.

This is the sweetest picture I have ever seen.
This picture really says a thousand words.

He also had a special visit from Great Grandpa Vosco Call.

We left and a few days later he joined us in Burley. I really can't believe how quickly he healed and came off of pain meds. Children are so resilient and Deacon is amazing!
