"I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us-and as our posterity read of our life's experiences, they too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted. What could you do better for your children and your children's children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved? Some of what you write may be humdrum dates and places, but there will also be rich passages that will be quoted by your posterity. We hope you will begin as of this date." ~Spencer W. Kimball

A persons own family is without a doubt, the greatest wealth that we will ever possess. Treasure every moment and take the time to ensure that the story you create is one that you will be proud of and look back on with a huge smile.

Grandpa's garden and lavender sachets

We spent the early part of the day at Grandpa's (Vosco Call)
house before we went camping.
Deacon helped Giselle water the flowers, plants, and herbs while she gathered some lavender.

Grandpa in his garden.
Grandma Ruth taught the girls how to make sachets with the lavender in her herb garden.
Giselle was gathering some lavender for the sachets.

These are some of the sachets we made.

I think it's wonderful how Giselle could remember Grandma's  project and how this type of traditions can be passed down to her grandchildren.
It's so nice to keep this traditions alive.
Grandpa Vosco loved them.
Thanks Giselle for giving us a little bit of Grandma today.

A righteous grandparent, who lives their lives to inspire and enrich the lives of their grandchildren, is worth untold – to those who cherish and love them dearly”. ~Kathryn Skaggs

Call reunion at Lagoon

Dad and I followed our children to Lagoon.
We let them lead the way.
Anson was riding with Giselle.
Sophia and Aubrey were riding with us.
When Sophia saw the big Ferris wheel from the car,
she kept yelling, "Yay, Lagoon!"
We're here!

 My original FIVE.
Richie's family.
 Brianna's family.
After Lagoon, we stayed at Nicole's house.
She lives really close to Lagoon.
Giselle has known her for a long time.
They graduated the same year from high school.
Giselle has stayed in very close contact with a few friends,
and Nicole is one of those few.
They have two beautiful boys.
She is a teacher who gets to stay home with her boys,
and her husband is a lawyer.
Randy and Nicole will do any thing for Giselle.
I love them!
Thank you Nicole and Randy for letting us stay with you.
Your hospitality was amazing!
This is Nicole and her little family.
This picture is about a year old so her boys are a little older.
Her hubby was sleeping,
and her boys didn't want a picture taken by this silly lady.
Since this is one of my favorite pictures of her and her family,
I thought I'd post it.

Our special little kitchen nook

It's interesting how this little nook has become the kids' favorite place to eat. It seems like no one sits here, just the children.

This morning Sophia said she was hungry,
so I told her to have a seat and wait for her surprise.
I set up a tea party for her and my old bear.

"Is this tea party for me Grandma?!!!"
I put some Lucky Charms in a foil cup for the bear.
Sophie asked what that was for.
I told her that's what she could feed the bear.
She said, "I don't think the bear wants any Grandma."
 A little while later,
Sophie came running in the living room and declared,
"The Bear ate all the marshmallows Grandma!"
Notice the picture below.
I thought she was staring at the bear,
but maybe she was staring at the marshmallows.
Richie III came and tossed the bear to the floor and said he was hungry.
Sophie cried, "I'm having a tea party!"
Sophia: "I'm the princess, so you have to be the king."
Richie: "No, boys don't like tea parties, and they don't like tea. They just like to be guests."
Sophia: "Then you can be my guest."

$5.00 pizza for dinner!
The kids loved it!!!
This is Richie and Sophie's last night in Burley.
We are all going to miss them terribly.
Deacon will be lost without them.
I let Richie play with bubbles while he bathed.
He said he was BUBBLE MAN.
He really looked like a bubble man.
Sophia slept in her tent last night, and tonight.

My beautiful grandchildren

Last night Sophie woke up at about 3 am coughing.
It really scared me because she sounded almost croupy.
I thought, "Oh no! I don't want her getting sick at Grandma's.
Not without her parents here."
She didn't have a fever, but her cough sounded horrible.
She told me that she had to spit out,
and she spit out some blood.
That really scared me.
She hadn't coughed long enough to cause her throat to bleed.
I brought her to the living room and rocked her in the recliner.
After she stopped coughing, which was a total of about 20 minutes,
I put her on the chair and went to get her some water.
When I came back, she said, "Look Grandma, I'm posing."
I thought I could do some blogging to keep an eye on her.
When I went to the computer,
she asked me to put on her very favorite song, Dynamite.
(Dynamite is the first song that plays on my playlist.)
I figured if she was posing for a picture and wanting me to play her favorite song, she couldn't be feeling THAT sick.
I don't know if she had a little allergic reaction or something, but she has been fine all day.
 "Look Gwama, I'm posing."
This picture was taken at 3:30 am.

Richie wanted me to take a picture and make it seem like he was higher than the house.
Sophia wanted to do it too.
Sophie blew on a dandelion, then she said,
"Now it's your turn grandma."
I found the little princess taking a nap on the love seat.
After dinner, they danced their hearts out to the song
DYNAMITE.
Who knew I had such crazy dancers for grand kids?
I have never seen Deacon so, so happy.
He really loves Richie and Sophia.
To end the night, they watched Cinderella.
I love these three.
I can't wait for Grace to be old enough to join them.
I think she'll be the life of the party.

Movies in the Park again

Sophia ended up on my bed last night.
She decided she did not want to sleep in the basement
with Richie III and Aubrey.
She really likes my built-in make up vanity.
I keep finding her there,
either bruhsing her hair or putting on make up.
When the children were having their breakfast this morning,
I kept finding Deacon on top of Sophia.
He thinks he's her baby boy.
Well, he is a baby, but he's bigger than her.
Brianna and I constantly had to remind him not to sit on her,
because she was a little princess.

After breakfast, I found all the kids in front of the computer looking at a Lagoon website.
They are getting so excited for Lagoon.
We took the kids to McDonald's for dinner.
When we came home, they jumped on the trampoline.

Sophia didn't want to get wet.
Deacon, on the other hand, loves to get wet.
He kept putting his face right on the sprinkler.
Our apricots are almost ready.
I can't wait to make some apricot jam!
Tonight we went to "Free Movies In The Park."
Giselle, Travis, Brianna, Deacon, Anson, Aubrey, Richie III, and Sophia joined me.
