Halloween

Today before church, my handsome prince, Anson took some pictures of me in my curly hair. It's still curly from my
Julia Child's "Do."

After church we had a little Halloween party at Giselle's house.
 Aubrey and Giselle hosted it.

We all made some candy apples.

The Addams Family showed up.

Halloween fun...

When Halloween falls on a Sunday, here in Idaho we go Trick or Treating the night before.

We all decided to dress up to give out candy.

Sissy was a Smartie pants. She taped Smarties all over her pants.
I was Julia Child.

Deacon loved his wig. We were surprised he didn't rip it right off.

Everyone played cards while we waited for Trick or Treaters. Dad sure had a good time giving the little kids a thrill with his spooky costume.

More answers for Brianna

Brianna had her appointment with a Reproductive Endocrinologist today.

The moment that Deacon was born, she had a large production of colostrum and milk, just like me. I was not surprised because they take after their mom's and I had such great results when it came to nursing my children. That night, after I left her at the hospital, Brianna went into shock because of a large amount of blood loss. That was the least of her problems. She had a horrible night after her C-section.

Since Deacon's birth, she has had so many health problems that the doctors here in Burley haven't been able to give us answers for. One of the many problems is that she hasn't had a menstrual cycle for over a year.

Today, she finally got some answers from the Reproductive Endocrinologist. He told her that he is 99 percent sure she has Sheehan's syndrome, also known as postpartum hypopituitarism (decreased functioning of the pituitary gland) caused by necrosis due to blood loss and hypovolemic shock during and after childbirth. Brianna has had all the symptoms that Sheehan's syndrome causes. The doctor did some lab and should get the results to see if she has this for sure. Her special ultrasound that they did confirms that from the inside Brianna looks like she is going through menopause.

When your daughter tells  you, "I don't want to deal with this anymore. I know it could be so much worse, but it's still not fair!" what do you tell her?

It is not fair!

Sophia's Big Day

 Yesterday when our alarm clock went off I turned to Dick and asked him if we could go see Sophia for her birthday. I suggested that we should have dinner with her and take some birthday presents for her big day. He said, "I don't see why not. Maybe I can get out of school early."

We were going to surprise all of them by going to the

Cache Valley Fun Center,

call them up and tell them to meet us there. Dick thought that maybe we should at least tell Richie what was going on, just in case they had some other plans.

Dick, Anson, Aubrey, and I left Burley at 1:30 and arrived at the Fun Center at 3:30 pm. Allyn, Dick's sister, met us there with her daughter Skye. Chrislynn thought that she was going to meet Richie there, and instead she found us. I think Chrislynn was more surprised to see us there than the children.

After the Fun Center we went to Richie's house and had some cake and ice cream, and Sophia opened some more presents. We also went to the final dress rehearsal for Seussical the Musical.

They didn't start rehearsal until really late so we had to leave during intermission because we had a long drive back home.

 On our way home we met Brianna, Deacon, and Travis really quick at a restaurant. They were just arriving in Logan as we were leaving. Brianna has some doctor appointments in SLC tomorrow. Since her first appointment is early in the morning, they decided to stay the night in Utah. 

We didn't get home until after midnight. It was crazy to go and come, but it was so worth seeing Sophia on her birthday. She was so much fun to watch when she was opening her presents.

When we got to Richie's house, Sophia played dress up with her new presents.

  She loved her magic wand and umbrella! I loved Sophia's Castle Cake!

Grandma Ruth Call's Popcorn Balls...

Saturday and Sunday were very lazy days for me. It rained all weekend, and it was cold and windy. On Saturday I stayed in my pajamas all day. At 6:30 pm, I got in the shower then got ready for bed. I think the cold and rainy days put me in this mood. Dad and I haven't slept well lately. We've had late nights and when we finally go to bed, insomnia hits! Not a productive weekend at all but as always, surrounded by my loved ones.

Today when I took Aubrey to school, I noticed that our mountain tops had snow. The marquee on the bank was reading 37 degrees.

The cold is here!

When I came home Brianna and Deacon ran to the car and we headed to Perkins again for our oatmeal breakfast.

  Later on, Brianna and I went to get Aubrey from school and made a stop at Walmart to get all the ingredients for

Grandma Ruth Call's Popcorn Balls.

Again to end our Monday evening, we went to Kiwi Loco.

When we got home Brianna and I made the popcorn balls and added candy corn.

Yummy!

Deacon had his too!

Fall time is so beautiful

Deacon is getting really good at using utensils. He tries really hard.

Today Brianna, Deacon, and I went to have breakfast at Perkin's. Deacon is such a good eater.
He had eggs and toast, a lot of my oatmeal and his mom's oatmeal. Then he had some raisins.

Lately, I've been wanting to take pictures of some beautiful trees in our town before they lose their leaves.
I don't ever remember appreciating nature as much
as I do now that I am older.
It seems as if when I'm driving in town
and I see a beautiful tree
I have to stop and sit there and admire it.
I do that with the moon too.
I guess that when you get older,
 you appreciate things more and don't take them for granted.

I asked Brianna if she wanted to do this with me and she agreed. She took most of these pictures for me.
I would just point and she'd run out of the car and shoot.

I wanted to show her the beauty through my eyes and instead,
I saw the beauty through her eyes.
We love a lot of the same things, and this is one of them.

This was our favorite tree. I think it is so amazing that you can see so many different colors in one little tree.

Dad, Travis, and Anson went to the very last Varsity football game tonight. Dick, as usual  had to announce the game and Anson just went to support the team, but he didn't dress for Varsity today. They lost their game again.

The girls, Deacon, and I all had dinner together, and just stayed home.

It was a good night!

Last JV Game of the Season

Anson had his last JV game last night in Jerome. They had an awesome game! As soon as Giselle got out of work, we all took off to head to Jerome. We are going to miss our little family football getaway's.

Here's another thing Aunt Giselle did to Deacon while she waited for the game to start. Giselle used to do this to Anson when he was little. We have so many pictures to prove it. The tradition goes on.

Makena is not very short, but she looks tiny when she stands by Anson.

About a month ago, Deacon discovered how to dip and he loves this new milestone.
