"I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us-and as our posterity read of our life's experiences, they too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted. What could you do better for your children and your children's children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved? Some of what you write may be humdrum dates and places, but there will also be rich passages that will be quoted by your posterity. We hope you will begin as of this date." ~Spencer W. Kimball

"In family relationships, love is really spelled t-i-m-e." _Dieter F. Uchtdorf

A persons own family is without a doubt, the greatest wealth that we will ever possess. Treasure every moment and take the time to ensure that the story you create is one that you will be proud of and look back on with a huge smile.

Monday... Memorial Day

Richie, Chrislynn, and the children arrived around 5 pm today. We barbecued some burgers, and I definitely enjoyed the children while they played outside.
Deacon fell in love with Sophie. He calls Sophie, Dee. It's too funny because he calls Aubrey, Day.
I LOVE MY GRANDCHILDREN!

I love, love this pictures of Dick with Baby Grace.
Grace is so good.
She always has a sweet, little smile on her face.

Memorial Day Weekend

We went to Logan for Memorial Day weekend as usual. We like to go with Dad Call to decorate graves in the Logan, Smithfield, Brigham, and Willard cemeteries. We left on Saturday and came back on Sunday. It was a short trip, but we did a lot. We helped Dad Call clean house and accompanied him to all the cemeteries.

SATURDAY
We made Mom Call's little bouquets.
Dad Call made his special one for Mom Call.
 Three generations.
On our way to the Logan cemetery with our little bouquets.
 My girls and their grandfather.
(Aubrey, Vosco, and Giselle)
We met Keith and his family at the Logan cemetery.
I love Mom Call's monument.
I took this picture of sweet dad looking at his mother's grave. He sure was thinking really hard of something. Probably good memories of his mother. The monument on the right is Dick's grandmother's, Fern Burleigh.
Smithfield cemetery.
I love all the stories that Dad Call shares with us of all the relatives that have passed before us.
SUNDAY
We went to the Brigham and Willard cemeteries.
The weather in the Wellsville canyon was nasty.
It was snowing, raining, and cold.
There is Dad Call sharing a special story with Giselle.
A lot of these relatives were Mormon pioneers.
I love these group of trees.
They are so mysterious, and so unique.

The weather on our way back was so much better through the canyon.
I got to see my Logan grandchildren.
Tomorrow they will all go to Burley to spend a week with us.
We are so excited!
On our way back to Burley.
These two were very tired. They helped their grandpa a lot!
Richie II and his family were not able to join us because Richie had 2 auditions for the Salt Lake Shakepeare Company and The Fantastiks at the Egyptian Theater in Park City. The weather was also too nasty to take the little ones out. Brianna and Travis weren't able to join us either because little Deacon has had a fever, and we knew the weather wasn't going to cooperate. In fact, while we were gone to Utah, it snowed in Burley.

Chips and Salsa

Whether it's salsa made with tomatoes from Dad's garden or
Pace Salsa, this family loves chips and salsa.
We could eat it everyday.
Yikes!
I found some wonderful avocados at the Mexican market today.
I think I could eat avocados everyday too.
Makena had her high school graduation today.
A few months back, we had a serious talk with Anson.
We told him that we didn't want him to have a serious girlfriend until after his mission.
We love Makena, but we knew she was a senior and that she would be leaving for college after graduation.
We didn't want his heart to be broken
when that time would get here.
We also wanted him to date other girls, including Makena.
Anson would rather not date at all.
He does things with Makena and her family,
or with Makena and our family.
I know he cares for her very dearly.
I'm glad we had them slow things down because the time has come. She will be moving in a week to start her college life.
Thank you for sharing a great year with Anson and our family Makena.
Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the drama department.
I think you were Mr. Call's right hand this past four years.
You will be missed.

He shoots! He scores! 2 points!

I was babysitting Deacon today and
I started doing some laundry.
He wanted to help because he is very helpful.
I use to pick him up so that he could put cloths in the dryer,
but when I went to pick him up,
I noticed he was throwing the cloths in the dryer.
Every time he'd throw one, he would make a sound effect.
(Kind of like a grunt, but like he was saying yaaa!)
I would say that out of 20 items, he only missed 3.
I know this sounds ridiculous because he is only year and a half, but Deacon was born with a gift.
He is so young, but you can tell he is going to be good at any sport that requires any a ball.

I missed my sweetheart last night.

Yesterday my sweetheart left to Boise pretty early for state tennis. As I was getting ready to go to bed last night,
Aubrey was all curled up, asleep, on his side of the bed.
I thought I would be able to sleep all through the night without him waking me up every hour on the hour.

I did sleep ALL through the night.
The sunlight beaming through the blinds woke me up this morning.
I thought, "Oh no! I slept in!"
I had set the alarm for 7 am for school. It was only 6:52.

It's really strange because usually when I wake up,
I can't get out of bed because I feel as if  something is missing.
My sleep!

This morning, I felt very rested,
but I still felt as if something was missing.
I realized that even though I get woken up by my sweetheart every hour during the night,
I wouldn't want to replace that with all the sleep in the world. Usually as he sits up on the edge of the bed at 3 am,
I look at him and I KNOW what's going through his mind.
(his worries, his discomforts, his concerns for his family, etc.)
When he wakes up in the middle of the night because he's trying to find a comfortable spot,
I tickle his head, arm, or back and try to sooth him back to sleep. When he goes to the bathroom, (and he goes a lot!)
I worry that he is up because his blood sugars are too high.
When the alarm goes off,
and I know he really hasn't had a good rest,
and we just want to lay there holding each other.
I MISSED ALL THAT!

Anson's first REAL job

I can't say that this is Anson's first job, because he's been working for a long, long time. Anson started helping his father mow the lawn when he was four years old. His father wouldn't make him do it. He would get between Dick and the lawn mower and start pushing. Anson wasn't your regular, little four year old. He has always been a big boy, so he managed really well. Before we knew it, he started mowing the lawn ALWAYS with his dad. We had two lawn mowers, and Dad would get one, and Anson would use the other. They've been mowing together ever since. Anson has always done anything for us, and does it with a big smile on his face. If he sees me emptying the garbage bag, he takes over. When I'm emptying the dish washer, he starts helping. When we moved to this place, he practically moved us all in by himself. He reminds me so much of his Dad. He is such a hard worker.

The REAL job that I'm talking about is one that puts him on the payroll, and actually pays him.

He has been wanting to go get a job so bad, but he wasn't 16 years old yet, so nobody would hire him.
Anson started working at Donnelly Sports today.
Brianna worked at this place for about 3 years in the past.

Tonight, his boss said this about him on facebook.
Got a new employee today and how awesome he will be.. he has big shoes to fill cuz his sis was one of the best.. ANSON you will do great.. you did great today. So great to have you on board...
She also sent me a private message that said how great he did on his first day, and how eager he is to learn new things.

Congratulations Anson!
I hope that the smile and happiness that radiates from inside you, will cheer all those customers and coworkers that come in contact with you.

A "good weather" get together.

Giselle planned a get together at Brianna's house, just because we had good weather. Every time we get together at Giselle's or Brianna's house, I just sit back and relax, while my girls cater to me.
Aubrey went to Giselle's house while they planned the menu. While she was at Giselle's, she baked this cake, and made homemade whip cream for the topping.
This is the first time that Aubrey has ever baked a cake by herself.
It was so delicious!
Giselle made some pulled chicken. All I can say is...
YUMMY!
Travis and Brianna are the best hosts.
We love spending time at their house.
Thank you Giselle for planning such a wonderful evening with the family.
My three beautiful girls.
Aubrey, Brianna, Giselle, and Sayda
We played a fun new game that Giselle bought.
Makena and Anson joined us after Makena's dance recital.

Aubrey's 6th grade band concert

Mark and Aubrey at their end of the year band concert.

Mark and Aubrey have been friends forever. They met when they were four years old.
Mark practically lived at our house when they were little.
They were always performing for the family.
Mark would do anything that Aubrey would ask him.
She was ALWAYS the director!
Mountain View Elementary
The King and I
2006 (The Chinese Nightingale) Aubrey was the Kitchen Maid, and Mark was the Emperor.
Halloween
This year, Mark's mother was Aubrey's teacher, and Mark was in her home room class.
I'm glad that Aubrey and Mark are still good friends.
I think they will always be good friends, and I know Mark would still do anything for Aubrey.
