"I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us-and as our posterity read of our life's experiences, they too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted. What could you do better for your children and your children's children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved? Some of what you write may be humdrum dates and places, but there will also be rich passages that will be quoted by your posterity. We hope you will begin as of this date." ~Spencer W. Kimball

"In family relationships, love is really spelled t-i-m-e." _Dieter F. Uchtdorf

A persons own family is without a doubt, the greatest wealth that we will ever possess. Treasure every moment and take the time to ensure that the story you create is one that you will be proud of and look back on with a huge smile.

Happy Halloween 2009!

Aubrey had a friend spend the night last night and today they carved pumpkins. Bree decided to join in on the fun. Deacon was the life of the party!

Getting started!

We certainly saved the pumpkin seeds...
Photobucket

... and baked them. They were SO yummy!

The finished product. From left to right... Meme's, Brianna's and Aubrey's pumpkin.

The family enjoying a movie after Dad and Anson got back from rehearsal. Notice Deacon has taken over Dad's chair.
Photobucket

This is seriously only about one tenth of one of the squashkins.
Photobucket

We pureed the pumpkin in the food processor...
Photobucket

... and cooked it with some spices. We put it in jars...
Photobucket

... and turned them upside down to seal.

Photobucket

It's interesting how just one pumpkin and a little bit of spices can give us delicious pumpkin seeds and all that pumpkin butter.

Thank you Fresh Mommy for the recipe. We love it!

What is going on with Brianna?

The weather has been great. Leaves are piling every where! I love it! I love the colors!!!
Anson had his last football game of the season last Thursday. We went to watch the game but had to see it from the little room where Dick announces because it was too cold for the baby.

Dick's show is coming along. Opening night is on Halloween. Today him and Anson left at 7:00 am and did not get home until 10:30 pm.

Brianna's health is not too good. There is a spot on one side of her spinal column that hurts her all the time. She says it feels like she has a lump on the inside. Her knees give out and she sometimes falls. The ob/gyn and our family doctor said it was from the pregnancy and say it will get better. Last week, we noticed that the right, bottom side of her lip looks like it is being pulled really tight so it makes the left side look droopy. (You can really notice it when she laughs or when she is talking.) It almost looks as if she's had a little stroke or as if she is having some kind of nerve problems. Bree is also so tired all the time and very weak. I think that what is really strange, is that the first two weeks after the baby was born she had tons of energy. I didn't even stay with her at nights. She was doing it all. Now, even if I stay up with the baby at nights, she is extremely tired all the time.

She has an appointment with an internist tomorrow. I think it's time for her to go see a specialist. When I was pregnant with my 5 children, I felt better and better after delivering... not worse.

This picture was taken today.
This is how you usually find Brianna. I might just have to change her name to Sleeping Beauty!

Autumn

In the morning after I take Aubrey to school, I like to sit on my front steps and sip on anything that's warm. This is my view. I love to see the leaves fall. It's almost like snow, but instead... the flakes are shaped like leaves. Autumn is my favorite season!

Photobucket

Last time that we had a freeze, we lost all of our grapes. I guess that means no grape juice this fall.
This is what our little town looked like today.
Dad's pumpkins are SO beautiful! I can't wait to try Fresh Mommy's pumpkin butter.

Family

Every time I'm around Deacon, the camera is attached to me. I have taken SO many pictures since he was born. He's been covering his eyes since day one when he's around his grandma. Poor little guy!

Yesterday we had a relaxing Saturday evening. I love my family!
Photobucket

The boys were busy with their Fantasy Football.

Photobucket

Aubrey was busy memorizing her Fifty Nifty United States song. I'm proud to say she has it all memorized.
(The song and the fifty states!!!)
Photobucket

Anson held Deacon most of the time. He was so tickled with any sound or face the baby would make. I love my life!!!

Bree was not feeling well toward the end of the evening. Her B/P was elevated so little Deacon spent the night with us.

Today... Sunday was a pretty lazy day. I'm not used to staying up with a newborn any more, but I love the opportunity.

Our stake had a special program tonight. (An Evening with Joseph and Hyrum) Julene Thurston asked Brianna if they could borrow Deacon for their opening number. He played Joseph Smith as an infant. If they have Call in their blood, their acting debut starts early.
